Twin Lakes Liberty Fest Cardboard Boat Race 🚣‍♂️🌊

 Think you’ve got what it takes to build a boat out of cardboard… and actually make it across Lake Mary? Grab your friends, your creativity, and your duct tape because the Twin Lakes Liberty Fest Cardboard Boat Race is officially ON!

This hilarious and family-friendly event is one of the most anticipated highlights of Liberty Fest weekend. Whether you’re racing to win, racing for laughs, or just trying not to sink, it’s guaranteed to be an unforgettable time on the water before the fireworks begin.

Participants will build their own cardboard boats using only approved materials and race them across Lake Mary in a series of preliminary heats leading up to the championship races.

Boats must be made using:

• Cardboard 
• Tape only 
• One paddle per boat-create your own canoe style
• One person per boat -unless parent and under 12 category
• Life jacket required-must provide your own

Creativity is encouraged! Decorate your boat, dress up, and bring the fun. Awards and bragging rights await!

Pick up your official boat build kit and get ready to create your masterpiece.

Materials will be provided. 
Use only cardboard and duct tape provided. 
The entire boat cannot be covered in duct tape. 
Dimension minimums: 4 ft long by 2 ft wide by 1 ft high Decorations are encouraged. 
Any paint/glue used must be water-based. No epoxy, wax, or oil-based sealants allowed. 
Make your own paddle. Single Sided oar/paddle. (think canoe not kayak)
Life jackets required for all races (not provided). This is not a demo derby. 

There may be some contact with other boats. Build accordingly! 
Damaging another boat during the race will be grounds for disqualification.
